LA Comic Con 2025

This year’s Los Angeles Comic Con was an incredible experience! Between the panels, the energy of the crowd, and connecting with so many passionate creators and readers, it was one of those weekends that reminded me why I love storytelling.

I was honored to be a presenter on a panel discussing creativity, resilience, and navigating the ever-changing world of publishing and entertainment. The room was full of curious minds. One of my favorite parts of being on a panel is the non-scripted question that are opened up at the end which our guest get to ask. You never know what people are going to say. It’s always inspiring to see how art, writing, and community come together to create something truly meaningful.

I also had the chance to do a book signing. Meeting readers face-to-face is one of my favorite parts of being an author. Every handshake, photo, and story shared reminded me how words can connect people in the most unexpected ways.

My publisher, Rogue Matter, made this year even more special by teaming up with a very special guest: The Book Truck. They are a nonprofit organization that brings free books to teens and kids all over Los Angeles. Their mission to make literacy accessible to all young readers is powerful, and it was beautiful to see attendees stop by, learn more, and get inspired to support their cause. Seeing books go into the hands of kids who might not otherwise have them felt like a full-circle moment.

Walking the convention floor, surrounded by costumes, comics, and creativity, I couldn’t help but feel grateful. Grateful for my publisher, my readers, and the amazing community that celebrates imagination in all its forms.

I’m also deeply grateful for Uber drivers. LA traffic is no joke!

One of the highlights of the trip was spending time with Roger Mincheff, who treated me to some fantastic food and even better stories from his own adventures in the industry and his personal life. And of course, working with Trent Olsen was a joy. He’s one of those rare people who’s both incredibly hardworking and down-to-earth. He is a natural leader who brings so much energy, positivity, and focus to the team.

I also had the absolute pleasure of signing books alongside my longtime friend, author Cheree Alsop. Seeing her again was such a gift. I was thrilled to finally catch up with her daughter, Myree, whom I hadn’t seen in person since she was just a baby! She’s now a college graduate, which made us both realize just how much time has flown by.

Here’s to more stories, more adventures, and more opportunities to share light through the art of storytelling. Until next year, LACC — thank you for the magic!
