The Literary World – Rolling with the Punches

Changes in the literary world have made selling books at this time a little more challenging. New York Times Best Selling Author and Professor, David Wolverton sent me an e-mail yesterday. Here is an excerpt:

“We went through times like these in 1992 and 1993. Editors and agents were thrown for a loop by changes in the distribution front. As a result, things got lean--and then all of the sudden publishers began to buy like mad. I think that the same thing is happening. It's going to be slow for a bit, but there are still some sales being made. We just have to work harder.”

As authors that’s what we have to do – work harder and get more creative!

Readers still want books and there is another change happening on the distribution front. E-book sales are increasing rapidly. E-books provide great possibilities with sound effects, animated gif. images and colored illustrations. Not to mention lower production and distribution costs.

If you would like to see samples of colored illustrations or e-book animations for the book Knight of Light, send me an email and I will be happy to pass the samples along.
