Kal'el came home from school with a loose tooth. This wasn't a big surprise since Leif and I were both in first grade when we lost our first tooth.
Kal'el worked hard at loosening the tooth then asked his Dad to pull it out.
Leif was super quick and Kal'el said it didn't even hurt.
That will be Dad's job from now on since Mom is a little squeamish about blood.
Turns out that one of the kittens lost two of his baby teeth the same week.
So we packed up all the teeth and headed into the deep woods.
Seriously. Its the middle of January and still so green!!!
We are looking for a fairy ring to put the tooth in.
If the fairies accept the tooth then a new tooth will magically grow back.
But it will be the last time that tooth will be able to grow back so Kal'el will have to take very good care of the permanent tooth.
If the baby tooth is a good tooth with no cavities then there will be a present on his pillow when he gets home.
We search for about 30 minutes in the deep woods with no sign of the fairies or a fairy ring.
Kal'el said this look like the home of trolls.
Then Kal'el finds a sign that we are headed in the right direction.
I know you can't see it too well in the picture, but there is sparkling gold dust along the trail.
Leif is explaining to Kal'el some of the dangers of fairy rings and what to look for.
Then we finally find a fairy ring!
Kal'el drops the teeth into the fairy ring.
When he gets home there is a present waiting on his bed,
which mean the tooth fairies liked the tooth since it didn't have any cavities.
Inside the gift is Star Wars mouthwash, toothpaste, floss, a light saber toothbrush,
and movie tickets to go see the new Star Wars movie.
